Elise Hebert, MACFT Intern

A Note from Dr. Laura Wallace:

Welcome to Twin Lakes Counseling!
I'm so glad you are here.

I have been practicing marriage and family therapy for almost a decade and am truly passionate about the work I do. I have gathered a team of the best therapists around, and if you'll let us, we would love to explore how to use our expertise and your experience to make lasting and powerful change.

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing where our work together takes us!

Elise Hebert, MACFT Intern

Elise has always been interested in a deeper understanding of the motivations and influences that lead individuals to make their choices. Her endless curiosity about how to help people uncover patterns that no longer serve them along with finding creative and loving solutions to them, led her to pursue further education in psychology. After achieving her Bachelor’s in English Literature from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., Elise studied depth psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California. She is now pursuing her master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy from Seattle University.

Elise has experience working with those struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and relational/familial strain. She has a passion to help young adults navigate the complexities of their world and to collaborate with romantic partners to discover their untapped, relational and sexual potential. Elise feels that embedded cultural norms and scripts can easily constrain and limit us in the creation of the life we envision for ourselves. Elise wants to help individuals, couples, and families move toward greater growth, freedom, and happiness and she wholeheartedly believes in the ripple effect of this transformation that can stretch out to the greater community and the world.

Having been raised in a foreign country and having had the opportunity to travel during her life, Elise has an innate appreciation and respect for many different cultures, religions, and forms of spirituality. She feels her life experiences and studies allow her to more easily include the spiritual and religious realm of a client’s life into their therapeutic time with her.

Elise brings to her therapy room a grounded presence and offers a trusting space for her clients to express, explore, and begin their journey to creating a life they desire. She is passionate about collaborating with her clients to help uncover their unique strengths and truths and help them find ways to authentically live those out. Elise would be honored to sit with you on your journey towards a greater self-understanding and freedom.

When she is not spending quality time with her clients, Elise enjoys reading books about human
psychology and spirituality, sharing meals and laughs with her loved ones, and paddle boarding
and kayaking in the summer. She and her senior citizen labradoodle also never tire of the same walks around the neighborhood where they both often find hidden surprises, new places, and
elements of nature not yet encountered. Elise is also a big fan of well-made movies and foreign
