Jamie Fenimore, LMHCA

A Note from Jamie:

Welcome to Twin Lakes Counseling!
I'm so glad you are here.

I love helping people connect to their authentic self and to others, and I am excited to help you find your change and transformation.

It is my sincere privilege to work with people as they make meaning of their life experiences and find lasting fulfillment in their relationships.

I understand the therapeutic process to be one of mutual exploration and discovery where the client and therapist form a working alliance built on trust that opens up space to explore both past and present relationships and experiences. In your therapy sessions, we will spend time looking into the specific issues that brought you into counseling. We will explore the nature of your relationships with significant people in your life as you begin to understand more deeply your unique way of relating both in those relationships and in the therapeutic dyad.

Jamie Fenimore, MA, LMHCA

Jamie received her master's degree from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology (formerly Mars Hill Graduate School) in Seattle, Washington. Her counseling approach is based on mutual trust facilitating an exploration of both past and present relationships and experiences. Her goal is for each client to discover a truer and more fully integrated sense of self, freedom in relationships, a richer life experience, and hope for the future.

Jamie specializes in issues of infertility, early parenthood, and grief and loss surrounding pregnancy loss and miscarriage, offering both individual and group sessions. She helps individuals, couples, children, and families find hope and healing in Federal Way and the surrounding areas. Her areas of expertise include Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Infertility, Parenting, Relationship Issues, Self Esteem, Trauma, and PTSD.

Jamie is a trained birth doula and is passionate about helping individuals and couples approach parenthood intentionally and wholeheartedly. She offers a therapy group at Twin Lakes Counseling designed to support families coping with pregnancy loss.

Jamie comes from the perspective that there is a relational component to all psychological problems and, therefore, she practices primarily from a model of relational psychotherapy. She views therapy through the lens of object relations, understanding that attachment patterns and relational development greatly impact psychological well-being. She is a member of the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study as well as the Center for Object Relations.
