LaDonna received her masters in couple and family therapy from Seattle University and is an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Approved Supervisor. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington Tacoma and is passionate about bringing quality, accessible therapeutic help to individuals, couples, and families in her community.
LaDonna knows we all face difficulties in this world and we all deserve an outlet to process those difficulties. This is why she values each 50 minute session she has to provide a safe space for her clients to unload both the good and the bad. She enjoys unpacking and helping to make sense of things with her clients in collaboration to bring hope, healing, and restoration.
LaDonna specializes in treating depression and anxiety, supporting those with chronic illness, and helping clients integrate spirituality into the challenges of life. She also works with clients struggling with substance abuse, with couples seeking to develop a rich, meaningful connection in their relationships, clients with parenting concerns, and children with life stressors or concerning behaviors. LaDonna helps clients differentiate between thoughts and feelings, offering tremendous compassion and knowledge to support them in learning behaviors and skills to overcome pain and difficulty.
In order to help achieve her clients' goals, LaDonna utilizes a variety of theoretical approaches to therapy. The theoretical approaches that she uses include, but are not limited to her usage of experiential modes to therapy, mindfulness, play, cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally-focused couples therapy, and narrative therapy. She is also a PREPARE / ENRICH certified facilitator.
LaDonna is active in her church and particularly passionate about partnering with faith communities to support wholeness and healing. She considers it her calling to provide psychological help to those in her community and has worked extensively with disadvantaged youth and the homeless.
