Lindsay Miller, MFT Intern

A Note from Dr. Laura Wallace:

Welcome to Twin Lakes Counseling!
I'm so glad you are here.

I have been practicing marriage and family therapy for almost a decade and am truly passionate about the work I do. I have gathered a team of the best therapists around, and if you'll let us, we would love to explore how to use our expertise and your experience to make lasting and powerful change.

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing where our work together takes us!

Lindsay Miller, MFT Intern

Pronouns: She/Her

Lindsay loves stories in all their forms whether in books, movies, theatre, art, music, or by meeting someone new. She feels stories add richness to life as they create connection and help one gain different perspectives, inspire new thoughts, grow, develop, and change. Lindsay believes in the fullness of our humanity and that life is full of both great beauty and gut-wrenching sorrow; oftentimes existing side by side. She also knows how much of a difference it can make to have a person who will sit with you through discomfort, brokenness, and the unknown that life brings. Lindsay is honored to be able to hear the stories of others. Lindsay wants to create a safe space for as many people as possible and be a attentive, curious, respectful, and supportive guide.

Lindsay has experience working with families, couples, and individuals of all ages who are working through a wide variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, and trauma. She also has a special interest in working with adults who wonder if they have been living a life more defined by culture, society, or family of origin than their own unique individual ideas and desires; with those deconstructing/reconstructing their faith or spirituality; or individuals dealing with shame; and with children and their parents. No matter who she finds herself sitting with, Lindsay wants to use her knowledge, her skills, and her open-minded and kind personality to encourage her clients towards self-discovery, healing, and empowerment.

In support of this work, Lindsay takes an integrative approach to therapy and works to find the best therapeutic techniques for each of her clients. Currently she is drawn to Narrative therapy, Solution Focused Brief therapy, and Strengths Based Cognitive Behavioral therapy to name a few. She also enjoys incorporating mindfulness, spirituality, and existential thought. Lindsay believes in working collaboratively with her clients as the experts of their own lives, offering them guidance, encouragement, and support as they move through their therapeutic journey. She is currently pursuing her masters in Couples and Family Therapy from Seattle University, WA, building on her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Care of the Soul from Wheaton College, IL.

Lindsay is a bachelor-level clinician and marriage and family therapist intern at Twin Lakes Counseling. She is supervised by Dr. Jarryn Robinson, LMFT, PhD ( LF61213318; NPI number  1710320882).
