Jenna Zeeb, LMHC

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
Pronouns: She/Her

Jenna has always felt compassion and empathy towards others, however as a teen she was most interested in science. While she originally wanted to be a geneticist and help others through genetic counseling, she realized she had a stronger passion and desire to connect with people outside of a lab. After attending a career counseling session, her deep questions and caring personality pointed her towards mental health counseling as the profession that most aligned with her beliefs and values. Jenna went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and continued on to achieve a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marywood University. One aspect to this field that Jenna has come to love are the continuous opportunities to further her education in the field because she enjoys learning, improving, and growing personally and professionally to best serve her clients.

Since becoming a Mental Health Counselor, Jenna has found great joy in helping her clients work on treatment goals to feel more confident, empowered, and self-aware. She has extensive experience working with adults struggling with mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Her experience working as a caseworker in an adult psychiatric rehabilitation program has also uniquely prepared her to assist clients with developing social and living skills to live independently in the community.

Jenna takes a very person-centered and humanistic approach to therapy which focuses on accepting a person as they are, allowing them to feel heard, and showing great empathy as she works with them to actualize the life they most desire for themselves. She has found cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT), and family systems to be useful theories and models to incorporate.

Another group Jenna is passionate about working with are those of mixed ethnicities, people of color, and the Muslim community. While she has lived in many places within the United States, Jenna was born and raised in Saudi Arabia until she was 18 years old and has experienced the unique stresses and difficulties that come with living in the U.S. with cultural differences. Working with those suffering from oppression, refugee experiences, and more unique family of origin struggles is very important for Jenna. In support of this passion, she is also committed to social justice work and outreach programs beyond her career as a therapist.

With Jenna you will find a warm, experienced, and multiculturally sensitive and inclusive professional who is truly invested in hearing and understanding your life experiences and goals. She will work with you to help you experience and interact with the world in a more confident, compassionate, and powerful way. Jenna will provide you with tools, insights, and a "come as you are" atmosphere in which you will be free to move through the therapeutic process authentically and do the work necessary to get you living the life you envision for yourself.
