Teddi Pottinger, SW Intern

CLINICAL INTERN
Pronouns: She/Her

Teddi’s journey to the field of counseling first blossomed from an interest in psychology. In 2017 Teddi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. After which, Teddi immersed herself in supporting children from low-income families, where she learned the profound impact of compassionate counseling in shaping lives. Teddi is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the field of Social Work at Capella University, with expected graduation in 2025. Teddi is passionate about empowering individuals to navigate life's challenges and discover their inner strengths. She has solidified a dedication to serving diverse populations. From aiding geriatric care and veterans to guiding teens and children, her experiences have honed an appreciation for the power of one-on-one connections and the impact of building rapport.

Teddi is particularly driven by her passion in supporting individuals of the queer community, people of color, and those navigating identity issues. Understanding experiences of isolation firsthand, she strives to create a safe, nurturing environment where individuals can explore the depths of their authentic experiences. Teddi recognizes how childhood experiences weave intricately into both our present and our future. In the therapeutic space, she employs an integrative approach, relying on techniques and insights from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, and Narrative Therapy. Teddi’s collaborative stance emphasizes that she is not here to fix problems but to support and guide individuals as an anchor, empowering them with the autonomy to drive changes in their own lives.

Holistic in her approach, Teddi brings empathy, creativity, and an energetic spirit to each session. Her passion is fueled by a desire to ensure each and every client feels emboldened, understood, and supported. Recognizing that growth is constant, Teddi hopes that her clients leave with a newfound sense of resilience, reassurance that they are not alone, and the courage to impart continuous positive individual change long after sessions conclude.
