You're trying to keep your head straight, hold your life together, keep the wounds on the inside, and your soul hidden away from any more trauma. But as time goes on, it becomes increasingly difficult, so you numb yourself a little more and hide your soul a little deeper. Sound familiar? Let us help you find freedom.
Like any wound, there comes a time to let fresh air and light bring about healing. But so often we cannot adequately and fully tend to a wound on our own - nor should we. But who can you trust? Maybe you feel embarressed. Maybe you're terrified to look at the wound again. Maybe you don't see how talking about it could possibly make it better.
We are here to tell you that you don't have to live a life constrained by the past. Healing is possible, and resolution can happen - and we are here to help you through the process.
At Twin Lakes Counseling, we offer a safe, private, and judgement-free space with highly skilled, experienced, and compassionate therapists whose passion is listening, understanding, and shedding the healing power of light on what holds us down and holds us back. Though the work is yours to do, you will not be doing it alone, thanks to your very own teammate and guide.
Your past experiences - both good and bad - shape who you are today but do not define you. Flashbacks, intrusive memories, nightmares, avoidance, insomnia, lack of passion, hightened alertness, shame - all of these are normal responses to traumatic events. But they do not have to be "normal" in your every day life, nor should they dictate how you live. Remember - freedom is possible.
Our counselors can offer several types of trauma therapy to help you on your journey to healing.
