Meghan Mitchell, LMHCA

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
Pronouns: She/Her

Meghan’s interest in becoming a mental health professional began in her high school psychology class. Learning about the human mind, human experiences, and the power of understanding our unique strengths and circumstances sparked a desire within her to discover how to help people with this knowledge. She went on to achieve her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and continued to pursue a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Since then, she has deeply enjoyed providing her clients with an empathetic and non-judgmental ear, offering insights and guidance as a professional, and helping them discover their inner strength.

Meghan enjoys working with individuals of all ages and walks of life, especially children through young adults, who are dealing with a wide variety of mental health issues and concerns such as anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, and life transitions. Her aim is to help each recognize behaviors and thoughts that are unhealthy or harmful and develop healthy coping mechanisms to improve daily functioning. Meghan believes each person has the strength within to change their lives and achieve their goals and that sometimes we need the help of a professional to get started.

When working with her clients, Meghan enjoys collaboration. She views her clients as the experts of their lives and their therapeutic journey and is honored to be a resource along the way to give direction and insight. To do so, Meghan uses multiple therapeutic perspectives and modalities such as client-centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which focus on the empowerment of the client.

Meghan strives to help each person feel empowered to live their best, healthiest, most functioning life; whatever that looks like for them. She provides a calm and safe space for individuals to express and explore their truest and most authentic selves. Meghan knows life gets difficult and overwhelming, and that we can easily feel lost in this world. She welcomes you as you are and all that you are going through. She has a deep appreciation for the bravery it takes to be vulnerable, and is ready to provide you with the space, resources, and tools to succeed in reaching the goals, and desires you have for your life.
