Kyle Anderson, LMFTA

A Note from Dr. Laura Wallace:

Welcome to Twin Lakes Counseling!
I'm so glad you are here.

I have been practicing marriage and family therapy for almost a decade and am truly passionate about the work I do. I have gathered a team of the best therapists around, and if you'll let us, we would love to explore how to use our expertise and your experience to make lasting and powerful change.

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing where our work together takes us!

Kyle Anderson, LMFTA

Pronouns: She/Her

Kyle grew up with an aunt who, being a psychotherapist herself, modeled for and nurtured in Kyle a deep curiosity for people and how they engage with the world. This interest led Kyle to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington. Upon graduation, Kyle felt the urge to gain more life experience as she settled on a career direction and spent several years working in both nonprofit and for-profit corporate spaces.

It was during this time, with the help of an MFT, Kyle discovered the connection between her unresolved pain from past experiences and the patterns of dysfunction surfacing in her current relationships. This personal healing work inspired Kyle to be a part of helping others improve their relationships with themselves and others. Kyle went back to school and achieved her masters in Couples and Family Therapy from Seattle University

As a therapist, Kyle finds attachment-based systemic frameworks to be particularly helpful, including Bowen Family Systems theory, Emotionally Focused Couples therapy, and Internal Family Systems theory. These frameworks emphasize how early significant relationships in life inform our understanding of ourselves and our patterns of relating later on.

Kyle has experience working with a wide range of individuals, couples and families dealing with a variety of issues including: depression, anxiety, chronic pain, grief/loss, trauma, and emotional regulation. She affirms and enjoys working with all LGBTQQAIP+ experiences. She also deeply appreciates working with couples and blended family systems around issues of communication, belonging, self-worth, intimacy, sexuality, and identity development.

Kyle’s clients are met with empathy, acceptance, and unconditional positive regard. They are also met by a therapist who honors and affirms the strengths of the various cultural identities of her clients. Kyle strives to be attuned with how systems of oppression impact her clients lives and held accountable for how her own privileged identities intersect with her client’s experiences in the therapeutic relationship. As a collaborative, strength-based, client-centered therapist, she believes her clients are in the driver’s seat of the work done together. Believing you already have inside of you what you need to reach your goals, Kyle’s aim is to provide you with a safe space to bring all parts of yourself to and will exercise transparency as she collaborates with you to live the life you envision for yourself.
