CLINICAL INTERN
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I was drawn to the counseling field through an abiding desire to offer a safe presence for people going through life challenges. Warm and thoughtful support from others helped me make sense of some of my own experiences, and I find walking alongside others as they process and grow through difficult times deeply meaningful.
I’m particularly interested in cultural issues from multiple perspectives. People navigate different cultural contexts in many ways. My own experiences with cultural adjustment, transition stress, and relational tensions inform my work exploring racial identity and its impact, intercultural dynamics in relationships, and family conflict.I enjoy working with people who have had highly mobile childhoods such as Third Culture Kids and value the resilience and strengths that can develop out of significant life transitions. I aim to offer an affirming and empowering space where clients can process their emotions, gain insight about their experiences, and take steps toward an integration of their whole selves.
I draw from person-centered therapy (PCT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), and solution-focused therapy (SFT). My therapeutic approach centers around the client and prioritizes each individual’s goals within a warm and accepting environment. I believe that exploring emotions can help clients better understand relational dynamics and form stronger connections. I also incorporate practical, strength-based tools to support clients in shaping their own preferred futures. Clients often experience me as warm, respectful, and supportive.
I see clients both in-person and via telehealth. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am particularly passionate about BIPOC mental health, and have a special interest in how individual and communal spirituality can support healing. I’m also interested in the impact of faith communities on individual growth and development.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Berkeley, California, and am working toward a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest University, Kirkland, Washington, with expected graduation in May, 2027.
My professional background spans education from early childhood through university in cross-cultural environments, highlighting the developmental stages of the lifespan and my understanding of these different stages in their cultural contexts. I have also worked with adolescent and adult Third Culture Kids, supporting their grief processing through one-on-one and group sessions.
I believe that a compassionate presence can have a powerful impact on healing and growth. It is truly a privilege to walk alongside those who are willing to engage in the work to show up in their lives with authenticity and courage.
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy bird watching, walks in nature, and sitting by the ocean. I also enjoy 2 to 3-minute dance parties for quick breaks!
