Haley Alexander, LMHC

Haley Alexander, LMHC

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
Pronouns: She/Her

Haley's decision to pursue work in the mental health field occurred while she was serving in the military. Seeing so many of her peers struggling with mental health and suicide moved her to shift career fields and try to make a difference not only for veterans but for everyone struggling with mental health challenges. Haley went on to achieve her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, adding to her Bachelor's in Psychology from Colorado State University.

Haley sees individuals and couples with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship stress. She is particularly interested in serving veterans, military, and their families as they navigate the unique stressors that accompany life in and out of the military. No matter who she sees, Haley wants to help people create change in their life, dig into their experiences, and find out how those experiences are affecting their living today. She knows that finding and making impactful change is hard which is where Haley finds it useful to begin.

Haley is a mindfulness based therapist who actively listens to her clients to determine what type of approach would best serve them. Some modalities Haley finds particularly useful in her work with clients include DBT, CBT, motivational interviewing, and attachment theory based work.

Haley knows that reaching out for help can be uncomfortable as is sharing deeply personal things with a stranger. Each time she sees a client she understands the courage it takes to simply show up. She does her best to honor, appreciate, and recognize that courage in seeking therapy. Some people know their end goal and have an idea of how to achieve it and others know their goal but have no idea how to get there. While others have no idea or feel just too tired or too stuck to even set a goal. In each of these cases, Haley is ready to help each client find and choose the best direction to go while guiding and walking alongside them the whole way. She is an empathetically direct, encouraging, challenging, and compassionate therapist who is committed to your journey towards clarity, healing, and a happier life. You do not have to survive the hard things by yourself, feeling alone and stuck in this world. You deserve to be here, be heard, and be helped.
