OluSola Leon

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
(Pronounced: OH-LEW-SHOW-LAH)
Pronouns: She/Her

The overarching theme in OluSola’s practice is rooted in “anakaínōsis”, a Greek word found in Romans 12:2 used to convey an experience of renovation or renewal of the mind and soul. Renewal can look different from person to person, and the need for it often finds people when they do not know where else to turn. At times, it may look like making a daily commitment to live from values rather than the mandates of the inner critic. Other times, renewal may be experienced as a mirror placed in front of someone, permitting them to clearly see themself.

Whatever the mechanism, a fascination with the experience of renewal is what drew OluSola out of her administrative career in geriatrics and into the world of mental health counseling. OluSola holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health from Central Washington University, Master of Health Administration from Capella and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.

OluSola offers multi-culturally aware services to individuals and couples, specializing in attachment injury, obsessive compulsive disorders and adults traumatized as children. Another speciality of OluSola is working with immigrants and children of immigrants. As a first-generation Nigerian, OluSola understands some of the complex nuances of acculturation, language barriers, and the generational impact. OluSola takes an eclectic approach to therapy drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and more.

OluSola believes that embarking on a therapeutic journey takes courage. Which is why she deeply values a strong therapeutic relationship and mutual trust. Rather than to take the position of an observer of her clients life, OluSola aims to walk alongside her clients as they navigate the stressors and battles of life. Sessions highlight values, discerning the voice of the inner-critic and developing a deeper experience of self-compassion.

OluSola is a licensed clinical mental health associate at Twin Lakes Counseling (MC61528354, NPI# 1558128488). She is supervised by Sharayah Lewis, LMHC (LH60632926; NPI# 1528479938).
