OluSola Leon, MHC Intern

OluSola Leon

CLINICAL INTERN
(Pronounced: OH-LEW-SHOW-LAH)
Pronouns: She/Her

In scriptures, the Greek word “anakaínōsis” was used to convey an experience of renovation or renewal of the mind and soul. Renewal can look different from person to person, and often finds us when we do not know where else to turn. At times, it may look like making a daily commitment to live from our values rather than the mandates of our inner critic. Other times, renewal may be experienced as a mirror placed in front of us, permitting us to see ourselves more clearly.

Whatever the mechanism, a fascination with the experience of renewal is what drew OluSola out of her administrative career in geriatrics and into the world of mental health counseling. After obtaining a Bachelors in Public Health from Central Washington University, OluSola earned her a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Capella University. She is now working towards her Masters in Mental Health Counseling through Walden University.

OluSola offers multi-culturally aware services to individuals and couples. Her main areas of clinical focus include depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, life transitions, caregiver support, work with adolescents, and those experiencing infertility or pregnancy loss. With a desire to provide each client with effective and individualized care, OluSola draws from a toolbox of theories including: internal family systems (IFS), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and person-centered approaches.

Clients working with OluSola will find that she values a strong therapeutic alliance and mutual trust. Rather than take the position of an outside observer, OluSola aims to walk alongside her clients as they navigate the stressors and pains of life. Sessions highlight values, self-actualization and developing greater grace and love for the self. OluSola offers a safe, judgment-free zone for clients to genuinely express themselves.
