CLINICAL INTERN
Pronouns: She/Her
Annarose believes that everyone deserves access to support for health and wellbeing through the provision of comprehensive and culturally competent services. She comes to the counseling profession after many years working in the field of social and health services. Her experience includes work in crisis response, domestic violence, food justice, legal system, and supportive housing environments.
Annarose is excited to work with individuals who are motivated to embark on their healing journey. She looks forward to working with those across the spectrum of identity intersection, and is especially interested in working with clients experiencing anxiety, life transitions, trauma, stress, self-esteem and relational issues. She provides counseling based in humanistic philosophy, which recognizes that all humans are valuable and deserving of positive regard. With a therapeutic relationship rooted in mutual respect, clients can feel free to employ reason, express emotion, be in touch with their intuition and express creativity toward the pursuit of self discovery and the achievement of personal goals. It is from this theoretical foundation that she practices Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing.
Clients can expect to be greeted with a warm smile and genuine interest. Annarose recognizes that clients are the experts of their own experience and is honored to hear the stories of those who wish to share them. She hopes to empower clients with a strengthened sense of value, self trust, and personal agency.
Annarose graduated from Western Washington University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Antioch University. When she is not working or volunteering with environmental organizations, she enjoys hiking with her energetic dog, Ripple.
Annarose is a bachelor's-level mental health counseling intern at Twin Lakes Counseling. She is supervised by Trisha Leonard, LICSW (NPI 1174841571, License LW61014335).
