KELLY LARSON, LMFTA*

MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPY ASSOCIATE*
Pronouns: They/Them

As a Clinician who identifies as queer and nonbinary, Kelly recognizes the importance of seeing people in all their complexity and multifaceted identities. They are not only curious about the concerns that bring you to therapy, but also about your interests, your community, the cultures and teachings that shape your life, and the dreams that guide you. Kelly believes therapy can be liberatory work, honoring each person’s history while helping to illuminate a path toward a life that feels fully authentic.

Kelly’s education and training reflect a wide range of interests. They started formal education studying studio art. Shortly after they earned their Bachelor of Arts in Ecology from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. Then they went on to earn their Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. During their graduate training, Kelly gained experience at both the YWCA and their university’s couple and family therapy center, where they provided culturally responsive, evidence-based practices to support clients from diverse backgrounds.

Kelly works with individuals, couples, and families from many walks of life. They have a special focus on couples and multi-partnered family systems, children and adolescents, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent folks, and people who have experienced complex relational trauma. Their approach is collaborative and holistic, integrating family systems theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy with play and creative expression.

Kelly places a big emphasis on building trust in the therapeutic relationship. They know firsthand how challenging it can feel to open up to someone new, and they are devoted to creating a sense of safety and familiarity at a pace that feels natural and accessible. Kelly will work collaboratively alongside you to develop a plan for therapy that feels aligned with your priorities and goals. Whether navigating anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, grief, identity challenges, the lasting impacts of trauma, or any of the many issues that create tension in daily life, Kelly shows up with presence, curiosity, and gentle humor to help you find the way back to yourself.
