MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPY ASSOCIATE
Pronouns: They/Them
Hello, I’m Anna. I believe that seeking support is one of the most courageous steps a person can take, especially for those who have spent much of their lives in survival mode. My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and deep respect for each individual’s resilience. Whether you are navigating trauma, life transitions, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm, you do not have to face it alone.
At its core, my approach to therapy is both collaborative and client-centered. Talking about our pain, our trauma, our worry, it can all feel so vulnerable. In each of our conversations I will listen and engage with genuine empathy and curiosity. We can navigate treatment at whatever pace feels most comfortable to you, and that pace is allowed to change throughout the course of our work together.
Clients often describe me as patient, accommodating, curious, creative, understanding, and disarming. I deeply value your safety and comfort in the therapy space and will prioritize this in every session and interaction we have. I also believe healing often includes moments of joy, humor, creativity, and playfulness.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I approach healing through a systemic lens, understanding that none of us are shaped in isolation. Every person exists within a complex web of relationships, family dynamics, culture, community, identity, and lived experience. In our work together, I am interested in far more than the challenges that brought you to therapy. I want to understand the full picture of who you are: what drives you, what grounds you, the communities and relationships that have shaped you, the stories and teachings you carry, the dreams you are still growing into, and even the deeply specific interests that light you up and make you feel most like yourself. I believe meaningful therapy happens when every part of a person is welcomed into the room—not just their pain, but their humanity, resilience, joy, and complexity as well. With this full picture, I am able to support you in a much more holistic and sustainable way.
I draw primarily from Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Attachment Theory, Structural Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Experiential Therapy. I also incorporate mindfulness-based practices into the coping skills and treatment plans that I create with my clients, and approach all care from a trauma-informed perspective.
I work primarily with individuals and families. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults; I bring a grounded, playful, and caring nature to every session, no matter the client’s age. I am also passionate about providing quality care to both LGBTQIA2S+ and neurodivergent communities.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in both Sociology, and Gender and Queer Studies from the University of Puget Sound, in Tacoma WA. Most recently, I have obtained a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) in the state of Washington.
I began providing counseling services in 2024 with experience working with couples, families, and individuals. I have had the privilege of working under some incredible supervisors, learning from talented professors, and collaborating with so many other brilliant and magical clinicians in this field. I look forward to continuing on this lifelong journey of learning from my community to evolve my therapeutic practice.
I believe we all have the power within ourselves to create positive change in our lives, and sometimes we just need the help of another to uncover the skills we already possess. I’d love to help shine a light on the parts of you that have felt dimmed or entirely dark for some time. Together, we can do this!
A little about myself beyond the therapy room — I identify as a white, non-binary transgender, neurodivergent lesbian. I am a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest. I am the parent of two cute tabby cats named Lucy and Peridot! I am an artist (of numerous media) and also an avid birdwatcher! I love to be outside engaging all of my senses and connecting with both my community and chosen family in Tacoma.
